budget web design, statueThis is supposed to be the title of my new article on budget web design, however, it’s taking me forever to write this article because… I’m a serial perfectionist! Why am I saying this with such negative enthusiasm? Because I can’t stand being a perfectionist and for someone that’s a web designer, being a perfectionist can really put a stop to your web design projects.

You may not realize this, but perfectionism can lead to procrastination. Imagine this, I’m sitting in front of my computer working on a new web design and I am just sitting there. Staring blankly at the computer screen… Trying to filter out all of the design ideas that I have so that I can actually get some designing done. This is what usually happens to me when I work on my own projects.

Fortunately, this does not happen when I work on the websites that my clients hire me for. Why doesn’t it happen when I’m working on client websites? Because I have an idea of what they want their budget web design to look like. Keywords here are “their budget web design”. You see, this is why you need to provide some ideas to your web designer… She needs a clear direction of what you want so that she can get busy creating it.

Now, if you want to create your own website, you can get it done quickly and easily if you’re not a procrastinator. If you are a procrastinator – like so many of us – you’re going to have to really pin down what you want so that you can focus.

Create a list of what you want in your website. Seek out designs that you like so that you have a few places to get ideas from. Think about the look and feel that you want your web design to have, and then research what colors will provide that look and feel.

These tips will help you to kind of hone in on what you want your website to look like. The cheapest web design is the one that you do yourself. There’s no question about that, but if you’re on this website, you obviously don’t want to create a website on your own. So, I’m here to help.

You can get a budget web design done for your business in about 7 business days – as long as you don’t procrastinate on providing me with the information that I need to create your website, it will be done quickly and most importantly, it will be done affordably.

This is the first in a series of Budget Web Design 101 articles. If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering how to go about hiring a budget web designer. Well, I’ve got a few tips for you to help choose the best web designer for your needs. The process involves knowing what you want, doing your research, and getting clear about the web designer’s pricing and terms.

Know What You Want

Knowing what type of website you want is a key factor in saving money on your website. Why? Because many web designers charge by the hour. What this means is that whenever you need a change made to the design and/or content on your website, you will be billed for it. Eventually the hours and charges will add up to something that is the complete opposite of a budget rate.

So, when you’re deciding on who to hire to design your website, think about what you want out of your site. Do you need a shopping cart? Do you want a blog? Do you want 20 pages of content or do you just want a basic brochure-style website with very little content? These are things you need to think about before contacting a web designer.

Do Your Research

Doing your research is the second part of this equation because hiring a budget web designer can often times mean hiring a bad web designer – and of course you don’t want to do that. So it’s important to look for a few key items on your potential web designer’s own website in order to figure out if this is a quality designer or not.

There are three main things to look out for: the design of the web designer’s website, testimonials from their clients, and examples of the web designer’s previous work. Looking at these three things will not only give you an idea about the web design studio’s professionalism, but it will also allow you to decide if their work is “up to snuff” to what you require for your own website.

Prices and Terms

This is the final aspect that we’ll discuss in this particular article, but it is definitely a “last but not least” sort of thing. Pricing, of course, is the number one part of any budget web design project. And the terms that are involved in the pricing structure can really make or break your budget. Unfortunately, the terms often break the budget.

To avoid having this happen to you, you need to be absolutely certain that the charges you are getting are expected and clear, and that there are no hidden fees associated with your website. Read the terms of your contract carefully, ask questions, and keep asking questions before you sign the contract so that there will be no unexpected fees popping up during the process of the creation of your website.

And now for a shameless plug, you should definitely check out our pricing and services. Budget Web Designery has no hidden fees… And we aim to please! Good luck!

Welcome to Budget Web Design by BWD. Our site is http://budgetwebdesignery.com and it is going to be a source for information about and services for, you guessed it, budget web design.

Budget web design is our passion because just like some people prefer to spend $100 on Lancomé body lotion at Macy’s while some others prefer to buy their lotion at the 99 Cent Store, we know that some small businesses prefer to spend a small amount of money on their web design budget rather than spending a small fortune on it.

In that vain, we are here to offer professional, high quality web design services for small businesses and individuals on a budget. Our budget web design services are affordable, the turn-around is quick (so that you can start promoting your website online as soon as possible), and our designs are results-driven.
